Mike McDivitt has been practicing law since 1974 and is the founder and current Chairman of the Board of McDivitt Law Firm. From the beginning, Mr. McDivitt’s motivation in practicing law has been to right the balance of wrongdoing and hold those who have harmed his clients accountable.

Mr. McDivitt began his journey to becoming an attorney by attending the University of Denver, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Economics with minors in Spanish and Political Science. His journey then took him to the United States Army, where he served in the Criminal Investigation Division while stationed in Seoul, Korea. He then completed his schooling at the University of Colorado Law School, where he earned his degree in law in 1974.

Mr. McDivitt began his career practicing general law, including family law, criminal defense, and real estate matters, and he eventually found a passion for personal injury law. Driven to fighting for those whose lives are derailed by injuries caused by other’s recklessness and negligence, Mr. McDivitt and his family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1989. With his wife Karen McDivitt, PhD, as his business manager, Mr. McDivitt opened his firm focused exclusively on personal injury and worker’s compensation law. Together, the McDivitt’s spread the word about the firm by becoming one of the first attorneys in Colorado to advertise on TV. These ads on television helped viewers understand that Mr. McDivitt would represent his clients without a fee until he got them the compensation they deserved for their injuries, as he believes that everyone deserves the right to legal help, no matter their financial status. Since then, McDivitt Law Firm has continued to uphold these values and represents clients only on a contingency fee basis. It has grown to become one of the largest personal injury firms in the state.
